La Martiniere World School (LMWS) is situated at Shripatpur near Sampatchak, Patna, Bihar on Patna-Gaya N.h.-32 about 4.5 kms from zero mile (N.H.-30), Sprawling 6 acres of campus in the historical ancient city of Patliputra, Bihar. LMWS was established in 2015, under the aegis of (“NAV JIVAN CHARITABLE TRUST” Reg. No. 25/11-12), A-31 Sachiwalay Colony, Kankarbagh, Patna-800020. The Climate serine environs of Patna have always attracted educationists to set up educational institutions in the urban and sub urban location of Patna. Our children today need a holistic development as they grow up in an extremely complex world, impacted by the benefits as well as the challenges resulting from globalization and consequent life style changes. With the innumerable gigabytes of digital information available to students today it becomes extremely important for a responsible institution to empower students to distinguish between information and integrated learning outcomes. There is no quick fix to sound education as such LMWS has taken up the tasks onus through a fresh look at key priority areas like curriculum, innovative classroom strategies, technology led learning solution and assessments. Dear Students, ‘AN EDUCATION THAT CONFINES ITSELF TO IMPART KNOWLEDGE IS NO EDUCATION’ Obviously, education is not merely learning from books, memorizing some facts, just to pass examinations, take a degree, get a job and settle down, but also learning to be able to listen to see the beauty of a tree, and to feel directly in touch with them. Beside these, we should be able to understand the people who are living on earth, so that we come to know the realities of human life. In this era of globalization one has need to learn the process of thinking, feeling and action to increase intelligence and wisdom. The instrument of knowledge enables a student to gain mastery over the technical skills in the field of study, while intelligence is born of observation and self-knowing, and that too outside the class-room. Learning comes only when there is no fear of authority and it does not say ‘I know’. Acquiring knowledge is one thing and learning is different thing that is endless. In today’s highly competitive and fast paced world, there is absolutely no room for lethargy or complacency; we need to excel not only in the field of academics but at the same time we have to keep ourselves abreast in becoming the ideal citizen of the society and highly adaptable to the difficult situations in life.
